Happy 2nd Birthday AAA Cards!

Today I have a card to help celebrate AAA Cards - 2nd Big Birthday Bash.  I love the CAS challenges at AAA and all the inspiration I find there.

Here's my card. It's not as CAS as usual, but I wanted to bring it up a notch in honor of celebrating 2 years. First I white heat embossed The Ton Stamps Bokeh Burst - Star onto watercolor paper and then gave it a purple watercolor wash. I just love that star! The sentiment is from a new set I bought at the stamp show last weekend, Our Daily Bread Superstar

I die cut the watercolor panel and the purple frame with a new die, Our Daily Bread Double Stitched Rectangles. I so love all my stitched dies! Then I adhered the layers together and added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sugar Plum sequins. I love the way this turned out.

I'm also adding this to the current challenge at Seize the Birthday, where the 'toppings' option is dimension.

Have a wonderful day. We have another day of sunshine here in Central New York, so I'm headed out. Enjoy!

So Happy for You

Hello! I hope your week is going well. We're having another sunny day in Syracuse. Exciting to see sun so many days in a row here. I was able to make some cards today and made one for a mom-to-be.

I used a NBUS stamp for my card, Stamplorations BabyBump - The Bee's Knees. It's perfect for a mom-to-be, don't you think? I simply stamped it on a card base & colored her shirt. Very CAS!

I'm entering this into Stamplorations May CAS Card Challenge where the optional color twist is magenta. I am also joining Less is More where the theme this week is something that pops.

Tonight is our mnthly meeting of Paper Arts Club and I'm excited to learn some new watercolor techniques from our instructor, Lyn, of Lyn's Paper Petunia. Hope you all have a lovely evening. Enjoy!

CAS Father's Day Cards

Hello. Stopping by to share some CAS cards I  made with my new Clearly Besotted Just the Two of Us stamp set. The images and sentiments in this set are so sweet.

Aren't they the cutest? These cards were so easy to make. The pandas and sentiment were stamped on the panel. I stamped the koalas and colored them with markers. The panels were die cut with Whimsy Stamps Hand Stitched Rectangles, framed in black and adhered to a card base. Doesn't get much easier than that and I love them!

I am entering these into The Paper Players #296 which is a sketch challenge. I hope I haven't deviated too far from the sketch.

Gotta run! The sun is shining and I'm off to buy and plant some flowers. Have a great day. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Sandie!

Our blogging friend, Sandie from London Days, had a birthday recently and I am very  late to her party! I'm sorry, dear Sandie. I hope your birthday and trip were amazing and that you're feeling better now, too.

Here's one of the cards I made in honor of Sandie's birthday. Anyone who knows her, knows that purple is Sandie's favorite color. I used a brand new stamp set, Happiest of Peonies from The Ton Stamps. Isn't it gorgeous? I white heat embossed it on watercolor paper and then watercolored the image. The sentiment is from the same set. The border was die cut with my stitched rectangles die and a added a few clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh

I'm entering this into the special Time Out Challenge in honor of Sandie's big day. Another blogging friend, Kylie from Kylie is Addicted to Stamps, has a special linky party on her blog for Sandie, too.

Happy Belated Birthday, Sandie!

Have a wonderful week! Enjoy!

The Challenge #73

Hello! I'm stopping in with a card to squeeze into The Challenge #73. The challenge this week is an inspiration challenge based on this picture -

Here's the card I made -

I was inspired by the colors and chose pink and green. The floral stamp is from Rubbernecker and the sentiment is from Verses. I used my stitched rectangles die to create a green frame. Such a quick & easy CAS card.
I am also entering this into Addicted to Stamps and More #194 - CAS and Time Out Challenge #57  which is inspired by words this week - "May all your weeds be wild flowers".

Yesterday I spent the day with friends at a Stamp & Scrapbook Show in Syracuse. So many great companies were there! We had a fabulous time and, of course, I went way over budget! I'm sure you're all surprised by that! (ha)  Guess what? I bought the Mini Misti!! Yes, yes I did. I have the bigger Misti and love it. Do you think I could leave the mini one there? Of course not! Now I have to go pay with all my new goodies!

Have a wonderful week! Enjoy!

Meet Miss Ellie

Hello. Another week has flown by. I finally had some time to make some more cards today. I've gotten quite a few new stamp sets recently and really wanted to play with them.

Isn't this little girl the cutest? She's from the new Whimsy Stamps Sketched Elephants set and I love her! Believe it or not, I have never ordered from Whimsy Stamps before and I love everything I bought. Of course! Who could resist? I used my Zig watercolor brush markers to watercolor this sweetie and her balloon. I really splurged and bought the matching die set, too.

I can't stop making shaker cards lately. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I used fun foam to raise my panel that was die cut from Whimsy Stamps Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles.  Then I added a mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins inside the shaker. Miss Ellie and her balloon were adhered with foam tape. She's all ready for a little (or big) girl to shake away on her birthday. So fun!

I'm adding this to the challenges at Seize the Birthday where the toppings is 'coloring' and CAS-ual Fridays #147 - Birthday Girl.

Tomorrow my family and I are participating in the MS Walk here in Syracuse. Sadly, one of my younger sisters has MS. We will be walking for her and also for a cousin who has this debilitating disease. We've had some beautiful sunny & warm weather this past week, but the forecast says cold and rain for tomorrow. I figure if people can live with MS, I can walk in some rain to raise money for research for a cure.

Have a great Sunday. Enjoy!

LIM #274 & ATC #87

Hello! Happy Friday! When I saw the new challenge at Addicted to CAS was plaid, I knew just what to use. I have had a beautiful leftover piece of plaid pp forever and just could not use it. Until now.

The plaid colors are softer IRL than in this picture. Perfect for spring. I used a die from My Favorite Things to die cut the plaid paper and then adhered it to my card base. The frame was made with Whimsy Stamps Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles. It sure looks like my stitching.

I'm adding this to Addicted to CAS #87 - Plaid and Less is More Week 274 - use designer paper in a CAS style.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy!

Birthday Shaker

Hello. I'm popping in to share another of the many birthday cards I needed to make for this month.

For this card I die cut a leftover piece of watercolor paper with  Lil' Inkers Boxed Up Birthday Greetings die. I then used the same die to die cut a piece of fun foam and adhered both pieces. I used a SSS Stitched Squares die to die cut my card base and another piece of fun foam. After adhering a piece of acetate to the card front I added seed beads and inlaid the die cut greeting into the card front. Shaker cards are so fun, don't you think?

I am entering this into AAA Cards Game #63  - CAS Shaker and HLS May CAS Challenge - Inlaid Die Cutting.

I hope everyone has a lovely day. Enjoy!

I'm Back!

Wow! I can't believe I haven't posted a card in a month! Although I haven't been crafting as much as I'd like, I have been making a few cards. My family has tons of birthdays in May. In fact, I have 2 sisters and a brother who all share a brthday today. No. not twins or triplets. They just all have the same birthday. I have another brother and sister that share the same birthday, too. I always meant to contact Guiness Book of Records to see if that had ever been done.

Yes, I am still in love with my crazy birds. I've used 2 of them on my sisters and brother's cards. Still using my Zig markers with a waterbrush, too. I used foam to pop these birds up on my ink splattered card base. Both cards have a stitched frame added along with the sentiment.

I'm adding these to the current challenges at Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

*Darn - I was too late for Seize the Bithday - next time!*

I have several more cards to share in the next few days. Thanks for stopping by! Have a good week. Enjoy!
