My 1st card actually turned out to be my least favorite. I was excited about our "Summer Theme" for our swap card, but after many attempts landing in the bin, I settled with this one. The stamp is a NBUS set, Stamplorations Beach Therapy. I attempted to create a beach scene with distress inks, but my antique linen sand looks white in the photo. The images are colored with distress markers. My panel was die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangles, layered over black die cut CS and added to a Hero Arts Earth Notecard.
My second card is for our Everson Museum Christmas tree we decorate and donate every year. I used another NBUS set, SSS with Wplus9 Many Thanks, on my one layer card. Clear Wink of Stella was added for some sparkle, along with sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. You can see the WOS a little better in this photo -
Lastly, my third and favorite card!
Of course, I had to use one of my Bird Crazy birds and my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. We have a challenge every month and this month was to use this Tic-Tac-Toe board.
I actually combined two lines in my card - the left line down and the diagonal line from bottom left to top right. I watercolored my bird and popped it up on the panel. The sentiment is from the same set I used in this post and was embossed with black EP. Her cute little party hat is also black heat embossed. Once again, I used a stitched rectangle die on the panel that is also adhered with foam. I used another NBUS stamp for the background on my card base, Create A Stamp Arrows. In hindsight, I should have die cut a smaller rectangle so the arrows would show more. Next time.
I'm entering my cards into these challenges:
Card 1 - Less is More: Week 233 - Life's a Beach!
Card 2 - Color Throwdown #351
One Layer Simplicity - Sparkle & Shine
Card 3 - Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes
CAS-ual Chic: Utterly Adorable Layers #1 - Embossing
If you're still with me, thanks for hanging in! Playdays are always fun. Have a great rest of the weekend. Enjoy!

Sweet set of cards Pam. I actually love the first one. The sky is amazing. The blue hues are so pretty. The circle images look pretty with pink and purple... and oh that chick... it's darling. Thank you for playing along with us at The Color Throwdown.

ReplyDeleteYour so lucky to have other crafty friends to get together with. Can imagine all the giggling, eating and borrowing of each other's stamps that goes on. So much fun!! I really like all three of your cards but can see why the bird is your favourite. The sentiment is hilarious (and so spot on) and for me its the arrows in the background that really makes everything pop. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely set of cards Pam, your beach therapy is fab!

What a fabulous trio, Pam ... such a lovely, calm beach scene with it's beautifully sponged sky ... gorgeous shimmer and shine on your OLC ... and that Crazy Bird ... brilliant ... such a riot, especially with that fantastic sentiment ... it's my fave too! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteYour first card looks like just the place to be doesn't it. :-) I really like the whimsy of the flowers on the second card, and that third card is a total hoot. I resemble that birdie quite closely. LOL Hugs!
