It's a Hug

Hello, everyone. I hope your week went well. My oldest grandaughter is off to the Navy next week and we're having a party for her this weekend. Since she can't take anything with her, I could only make her a card. I thought she'll need a few hugs while she's gone.

The sentiment is Verses It's a Hug stamped in AMuse Studio gray ink.The hearts are from various sets randomly stamped down the card in Hero Arts Bubble Gum. I love this color combo, don't you? It is one of my favorites.

I am entering this into Less is More #267 One Layer Sentiment and the Inkspirational #104 Pink & Grey Colour Challenge.

I hope she likes this and it reminds her that she is loved during the challenging days at boot camp. We are all very proud of her.

My weekend is further saddened due to the closing of my LSS. It's the only one remaining in CNY and I'm sure going to miss it. We're hoping that when my friend, the owner's health problems are better, she can open again in another location. Fingers crossed. I hope you have a lovely weekend. Enjoy!

Hello Spring

Hello. Today I'm sharing a card from one of the backgrounds I made last week during my crafty play date with my friend, Rosalie. We're both really loving watercoloring these days.

This was a simple watercolor wash with distress inks. The twist here is I dabbed  some liquid masking fluid on the paper before watercoloring. Once the paper dried, I rubbed off the masking fluid and was left with the lovely random white spots. The flower is from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden stamp set and the sentiment is from the SSS Flower Friend set.

I just got the newly released Whimsy Stamps Hand Stitched Rectngles Dies and I love them! I used the largest, which is A2 card size, to die cut the panel and then adhered it to my card base. Those wavy stitches look like my sewing. It's never straight.

I'm entering this into Time Out Challenge #51 which is Easter and/or Spring with the optional technique twist of masking. I sure do love twisting!

Have a lovely day! Enjoy!

Lucky You

Happy Monday! I'm popping in quickly to add a card to a few challenges.

I've used a pp from the Authentique Lucky collection to create a tag with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duos 1 die cut. The shamrocks were die cut from a Memory Box die and the sentiment is from the Verve Lucky You stamp set. I've added a piece of green jute to the tag and adhered it with foam to my stitched green panel. That was added to a white card base for my clean and layered card.

I am entering this into these challenges:
The Card Concept #50 - shamrocks, patterns and greens
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - a bit 'o green
Simply Create Too #104 - use green only

I hope everyone has a fabulous week and finds some crafty time to play! Enjoy!

CASology #188

Hello. I have a card to pop into the CASology: Week 188 challenge. This week's cue card is 'laugh'.

I bought this stamp set at the Rubber Cottage booth at last year's Stamp Show and thought it was so funny. I decided to go super CAS and just ink the giraffe and sentiments in black. It literally took less than 5 minutes to make. (Kind of makes up for the ones that take forever.) Do you think I find it so funny because I'm less than 5 feet tall and everything is "up" to me? Maybe.

Today was the St. Patrick's Parade here in Syracuse and it is a huge event. My Irish  Princess danced down the street with her dance school and somehow I got a fabulous picture right after they had finished a dance and were walking by.

Yep, waving to her loyal fans! Love that girl!

Have a great end of the weekend. Enjoy!

AAA Cards: Game # 59

Hello and happy Friday! Today I have a card to enter into AAA Cards: Game #59: , where  the theme is embossing.

I've used the same butterfly Dreamweaver stencil as I did on this card and again stenciled with distess inks. I then added translucent embossing paste over the stencil and let it dry. Love  how shiny that made those colors. The SSS sentiment was heat embossed in black. Same card, but with the addition of another technique. I guess you could say I cased myself, right?

I am also adding this to the Stamplorations March CAS Card Challenge.

I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Enjoy!

LIM Citrus, JUGS #333 & CASC&S #164

Helo. Today's card is for several challenges. Very CAS & very quick.

Please excuse the poor picture. For some reason my SD card from my camera would not load onto my computer today, even though it was fine yesterday. Nasty gremlins somewhere. So I had to take this picture with my phone.

I stamped an AMuse Studio flower with citrus colors of Ranger dye ink onto a die cut stitched square. The sentiment was added  and I adhered the panel flat to a card base.

I am entering this into these challenges:
Less is More: Colour Week - Citrus
Just Us Girls #333: Word Week- Flowers
     CAS Colours & Sketches # 164 - Sketch

I spent today learning some new techniques from my stamping friend, Rosalie. Her watercoloring is just lovely and I learned so much! We had a great time and I hope to share some of what I learned soon. Have a great evening! Enjoy!

Uniko Challenge #29

Hello. Today's card was made with one of the stamp sets I received in the mail yesterday. I've used Uniko's Balloon Bash for the Uniko Challenge #29, which is a color challenge.

Sadly, I do not have a Uniko birthday sentiment - yet - so I've used one from SSS. I am so in love with these balloons! They make me so happy and I can't wait to make more cards with this set.

Due to using  NBUS stamps, I am also entering this into Darnell's NBUS Challenge #6. I am also linking up to Addicted to Stamps and More #184 - CAS.

It was 78 degrees here in Syracuse today. We tied the record high. I went to the zoo with a friend and it was such a fabulous day. If only it would stay this way. I can dream, right?!?

Tomorrow I have a crafy play date with my stamping buddy. Can't wait! Have a good day. Enjoy!

Just a Note

Hi. I'm quickly popping in with a card to add to CAS Colours & Sketches: Challenge #163.

This was a color challenge using these colors-

I just received an order today from Uniko and this was the free stamp set included in my order. Thank you, Bev! I used Ranger Classic Cherry  ink for the flower and 2 shades of distress ink for the stem and sentiment; Mowed Lawn and Cracked Pistachio. The panel was die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangles and adhered to a card base.

That's all for tonight. It's been a busy week and it's only Tuesday. Tomorrow is supposed to be around 65 degrees here (finally!) and I'm planning a trip to the zoo. Hope you have a great day! Enjoy!

You're My Lucky Charm

Today I have another card for St. Patrick's Day. Can you tell I love this day?

I made this for the Fusion: Lucky Days challenge. I created fusion by incorporating both the photo inspiration and the sketch.

Once again, I used my Verve Lucky You set. I love the images and sentiments in this set. I stamped the shamrocks and the sentiment with Ranger Electric Lime ink. The panel was die cut with my go-to SSS Stitched Rectangles and added to lime green card stock. I love how this turned out!

I am also adding this into the Curtain Call: Key Lime challenge and as my second entry into the new Double D Challenges: Feeling Green

I hope you have a lovely week! Enjoy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello. I'm popping in with my first St. Patrick's Day card of the year. Here in Syracuse, NY our annual St. Patrick's Day parade will be held this coming Saturday. Yes, my Irish Princess will be dancing down the road. Can't wait!

For this card I've followed the sketch for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #226. The striped pp is from the Authentique Charmed collection. The shamrock was die cut from a Memory Box die and the sentiment is from the Verve Lucky You stamp set.

I am also entering this into the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More #183 - Holiday and the new Double D Challenges: Feeling 'Green'.

Have a wonderful week. Enjoy!

CASology #187 - Spin

Happy Saturday! I have a busy day ahead of me, but I want to pop in, say hello and add a new card to the CASology: Week 187 - Spin challenge.

Would you believe I bought this stamp about 3 years ago and have never used it? Of course, you believe it, because you have some lots of those, too, don't you? This stamp is from Unity and because the globe spins - perfect!

I stamped the globe and sentiment that comes with it and colored with some colored pencils. It was die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangles and adhered flat to a card base.

I'm off to Nerium Regionals training today and a birthday party tonight. I'll be spinning myself by the end of the day. I hope you have a great day! Enjoy!

HB2U

Hello, again. I have another card for some challenges. I made this for my Irish Princess's brother who is turning 12 today.

I die cut the largest balloon from SSS Balloons Dies and trimmed it to fit at the top of the card. The pattern papers are from an older collection by American Crafts. To die cut the number balloons I used Avery Elle Number Balloons Dies. Twine form my stash was used to tie the balloons together. My NBUS sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays The Whole Shebang stamp set that just arrived in the mail yesterday. I am totally in love with that awesome set!

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Just Add Ink Challenge #301 - Just Add Numbers

The weekend is finally here. Enjoy!

Miss You

Hello. Today I have a quick card to add to the CAS on Sunday Challenge #77 - One Layer Wonder.

This card is very CAS. I inked up Uniko English Country Garden Butterflies in pink and 2 blues and added them to a card base as if they are fluttering away. Hence the sentiment, which is from the Sweet 'n Sassy Keep in Touch, Too stamp set.

Edited: I will also be adding this to the Uniko Challenge #29 , which is a color challenge

That's all for me right now. I have a busy Friday ahead of me. Hope yours is great. Enjoy!

It's March!

Wow! It's March already! I don't know where the time is going, do you? I've been retired for a little over 2 months and still haven't found time to unpack what I brought home from school. I think I need to do that soon.

This card is for the Less is More challenge and this week was add some wire. I used some distress inks over a Dreamweaver stencil and added blue around it. For the tail I adhered a twisted piece of wire. The SSS sentiment was embossed in black. I'm only a bit ok with this card, although I do love the butterfly. I'll play with that again soon.

I am also entering this into CAS(E) this Sketch #161

That's all for today. I hope your week is going well. Enjoy!
