Can't Thank You Enough

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a few challenges and for my crafty blogging friends, as well. I just can't thank all of you enough for all your inspiration and kind comments on my posts. This one is for all of you!

Loosely following the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch (shown below), this is my card. I white heat embossed the panel with an image from CAS-ual Fridays Loving Thoughts and watercolored with distress markers. The colors are from this week's Color Throwdown #398. I then stamped the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Frankly set in the same colors, applying the colors directly onto the stamp. The panel was die cut with Mama Elephant Femme Frames. I then added a twine bow and adhered it flat to a card base.

I will also enter this into CAS-ual Fridays #150 - Thanks with Twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have  a great week. Enjoy!

More Faux Bleach

Hi. I'm back again with my 2nd post today sharing another card using a different faux bleach technique with a stencil.

Once again I created a rainbow by ink blending Distress Inks onto a masked card panel. On my earlier card here, I sprayed wayer directly onto the stencil and then placed the stencil on the ink blending. For this panel I sprayed the stencil with water after placing it on the ink blending. This way the water reacts and bleaches the stenciled area rather than the background area., giving a totally different effect. The stencil I used here is the Simon Says Circle Dots stencil.  The sentiment is from the Sweet 'n Sassy Keep in Touch, Too set.

This will be my 2nd entry at Less is More #281 - Faux Bleach. I am also entering this into Virginia's View Summer Challenge - All About Colors and The Paper Players #300 - Celebration.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing 2 different ways to create this effect with a stencil. Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening. Enjoy!

Faux Bleach Bold Florals

Hello. Today I have a card for the challenge at Less is More. This week the challenge is to use the Faux Bleach technique.

This is such a fun technique and can be done many ways. For this card I masked off the top of my panel and ink blended a rainbow on the bottom with Distress Inks. Next I used an ARTplorations Bold Florals stencil. I sprayed water on the stencil and then placed it over my inked panel. The inks react with water and start to bleach away. I carefully removed the stencil after about 60 seconds and this is what was left. The flowers are still brightly inked while the background where the water reacted with the ink is faded. I love this technique.

After heat drying the panel, I added a thin black strip of card stock, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to a card base. I really like how this came out.

I'm also adding this to Happy Little Stampers June CAS Challenge - Ghosting and Addicted to CAS #90 - Aloha.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day. Enjoy!

Bold Butterflies

Hello. Today I'm sharing a quick card that I made with some bold colored butterflies. I love butterflies, don't you?

Aren't those butterflies beautiful? They're from another new stamp set I hadn't used yet - Clearly Besotted A Better You. I stamped them in some bright Hero Arts inks. The sentiment was included in the same set. I die cut the panel, adhered it flat to a card base and added some sequins.

I'm adding this to CAS on Sunday - Butterflies and Just Us Girls - Colours: turquoise, mustard and hot pink. Love these colors!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Enjoy!

Oh Happy Day!

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope your week started off nicely. We've had some beautiful weather here in Central New York and I've managed to find some time to make more cards.

I've had the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms stamp set that was designed by Julie Ebersole since it was released forever ago and hadn't used it yet. What was I waiting for? I love these flowers! I stamped the blooms and leaves in some Hero Arts shadow inks, masking the blooms to add the leaves. The sentiment is from the same set. I then die cut the panel with a stitched rectangles die (I'm obsessed, I know!) and adhered it to a Hero Arts notecard

I really like how it came out. I'll definitely be playing with these more, especially since I bought the matching dies, also.

The challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches is a colour challenge this week, so those were the colors I used. I'm also entering this as my 2nd card at Inkspirational, where the current challenge is masking.

As always, thanks for stopping in and I hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy!

Just For You

Hello. Happy Monday. Today I'm playing with one of my newest stamp sets, Altenew Dahlia Blossoms. I am so in love with all the Altenew layering sets right now.

This set is easier to line up than some of the others and only has 3 layers. Of course, I have to use my Mini MISTI. I find myself using it on almost every card I make. I've inked the layers of the large and small dahlia images with Altenew Summer Afternoon mini inks. After masking each bloom, I added the leaves with the Altenew Green Fields mini inks. The sentiment is from Altenew Painted Greetings inked with Hero Arts Cup 'O Joe.

After trimming down the panel I matted on brown card stock and added brown twine tied in a bow. Then the panel was adhered to a card base. In retrospect, I wish I had added the leaf to the small bloom further down in the right hand corner, but not enough to redo the card. I want to make a set of these with different sentiments, so I'll change the leaf placement on those.
I am adding this to the Color Throwdown #397. This will be my first time playing there. Also I'm playing at Inkspirational #111 - Masking and Simply Create Too #111 - Use buttons or bows.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful week. Enjoy!

Happy Father's Day

Hello. It's Father's Day here in the US and the weather in Central New York is perfect for outdoor activities. I made a masculine card using leftover pieces from older collections of Graphic 45.

Graphic 45 is my absolute favorite paper crafting company and I never throw any piece of it away. Never. I have a hoard of their papers and other products. This card was made using pieces from Ladies Diary,  Kraft Reflections and possibly others I don't recall. I've distressed all the edges with a paper distresser and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I love all the rips and tears. The text paper was added flat to a blue pp from Ladies Diary. The cut-apart images (love these!) were popped up with foam and I added a tiny Tim Holtz paper clip for added interest. I did not add a sentiment to the outside so the card could be used for Father's Day or a birthday.

Although I share mostly CAS cards here on my blog for challenges, the pieces I create with Graphic 45 are actually my favorites. Yes, I love to watercolor and am obsessed with layered stamps at the moment, but I love my G45!

Thanks for sharing a few minutes of your day with me. Enjoy!

Happy Saturday!

Hello. Happy Saturday! I made a couple cards today for challenges that are closing soon.

My first card is for AAA Cards where the challenge is watercolors. My card is embossed resist with watercolor made with distress ink. I gold heat embossed a sentiment from SSS Hand Lettered Encouragement onto watercolor paper. Then I added Picked Raspberry DI to an acrylic block, spritzed it with water and smooshed it over the embossing. I also added some water droplets after the panel dried that reacted again with the DI. A gold frame was added to finish the card.

My second card is for CASology where the theme is masculine and I've loosely followed the sketch at this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It doesn't get much more CAS than this 2 minute card. Both the image and the sentiment are from the Sweet 'n Sassy Timeless Classic set that I no longer see available on their site. I am also adding this to Time Out Challenges #59 without the twist.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. Enjoy!

Superstar Birthday

I hope you're having a great day. Today I have a card for the challenge at The Paper Players. This week is a color challenge using red, white and blue.

I hadn't played with this set that I purchased at the stamp show last month yet. It's the Our Daily Bread Designs Superstar stamp set. I think stars are perfect for a red, white and blue card, don't you? I used Hero Arts Pale Tomato and Navy inks to stamp various stars and a sentiment from the set onto a white panel. The panel was double matted with red and navy cardstock. Quick and easy and a great masculine birthday card.

I will also enter this at Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Enjoy!

One More Peony

Hello. I made a card today for the challenge at Less is More. This week we were challenged to make a one layer card with splatters.

Once again, I brought out my Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set to play. This time I used the Altenew Red Cosmos mini inks set to create the layers in this beautiful flower. The leaves are from the same set and inked with Altenew Green Fields mini inks. I splattered one of the green inks onto my card with a paintbrush and added a sentiment from Altenew Painted Greetings. Layering stamps create such lovely dimension on a one layer card. Perfect card to mail to a friend who just had surgery, don't you think?

I hope you're having a great week and getting in some crafty playtime. Enjoy!

Sunshine

Hi! I'm sharing a card for the challenge at CASology. The cue card is Sunshine and we could use some here in central New York today.

I've used some older products from Simon Says Stamp that I can no longer find on their site. The sun is a stencil that I sponged with Mustard Seed DI and the sentiment is also from a SSS set. I added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Lemon Drop sequins to add some sparkle. Isn't it a bright and cheery card? Perfect for the dreary day here.

I am also entering this into Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday - Sunshine.

Thanks for visiting and adding some sunshine to my day. I hope you're having a great day. Enjoy!

More Altenew Peony Bouquet

I can't stop playing with this fabulous stamp set! The Altenew Peony Bouquet set is so beautiful. I made another card with it today.

For this card I used the Glacier Caves mini ink set. Such gorgeous blues! I've also used different leaves from the stamp set inked again in Green Fields. I added another sentiment from the Painted Greetings stamp set and die cut the panel with Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Rectangles. The panel was adhered to a blue mat and then added to a card base.

I am so in love with all of the Altenew layered stamp sets. Have you used any yet? Warning - they're addicting!

I'm adding this card to the challenges at Addicted to CAS - Petals, Addicted to Stamps and More - Make Your Mark and CAS-ual Fridays - Florals.

Have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy!

Altenew Peony Bouquet

Hello. I'm popping in quickly with a card I made for Less is More - where the theme is the color purple this week. I needed a card for a former colleague whose favorite color just happens to be purple.

I bought the Altenew Peony Bouquet set at the stamp show a few weeks ago and finally sat done with a friend yesterday to play with layering this gorgeous peony. Thank goodness I also bought the Mini MISTI at the show. I wasn't going to buy the new one because I have the larger one, but I'm so glad I did. It's the perfect size for cards.

After several attempts at layering the 4 different stamps that create this peony, I'm finally happy with this one. I used the Altenew Shades of Purple  mini ink set to create the different colored layers. The leaves were inked with the Green Fields mini inks. The peony was fussy cut and adhered over the leaves with foam onto the card base. The sentiment is from Altenew Painted Greetings and was inked with one of the purple shades.

Thanks for stopping in and have a great day. Enjoy!

Belated Birthday

Hello, everyone. I made this sweet shaker for my crafting buddy for her birthday. Our club meeting was a few days after her birthday, so I thought this sentiment would be perfect.

Isn't the sentiment awesome? It's from the Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday Word Art set designed by the amazing Gloria Stengel from Scraps of Life. If you aren't familiar with Gloria (where have you been?), head over and check out her fabulous work. Gloria is a rock star!

My card is fairly easy. I used a circle die on the polka dot pp to create the opening for the shaker. Then I adhered acetate and added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Fun Foam, also die cut with the circle die, was adhered to raise the pp from the card base. I watercolored one of the Bird Crazy birds and a balloon, fussy cut them and used foam to adhere to my card. I am still in love with these birds!

I am entering this into the current challenges at Just Us Girls #346 - Birds and Seize the Birthday without toppings.

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely rest of your week. Enjoy!
