A Million & One Thanks

Recently I was asked by a co-worker to make a special Thank You card. Her mother became ill and did not have enough sick time accrued to carry her through her illness. Her fabulous fellow employees gave her their sick days, so she was able to be paid while being out of work. Evidently, this had never happened in that workplace before, so the family wanted a card that was out of the ordinary and could be displayed.

This is the card I made for them. It is a twisted easel card that I made using papers from the Bo Bunny Learning Curve collection. I've had these papers for quite a few years and thought they would be perfect. The easel base is 12" x 6" and the top was scored diagonally to allow for it to twist forward. I added a 6" x 6" piece of black from the collection to the top. It was paper distressed with my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and then ink distressed with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink

I then added fussy cut pieces from the collection. The stack of books was cut and mounted on fun foam to add dimension. The date due cards were fussy cut and added above the books, some flat and some with foam. All of these pieces were ink distressed.

For the bottom of my easel, I used a 6" x 6" cut out of a blackboard from the collection. The sentiment from Stampin Up was inked with Ranger Glacier White ink. I added May Arts ribbon around the bottom and  a multi-loop bow. A floral chipboard piece from Graphic 45 with a gold glittered resin flower on top, was adhered to the bow. That is what  helps the twisted easel to stand.

I'm so happy that my co-worker loved the card. I hope her mom and her fellow employees at the library do, too.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Simply Create Too Challenge #82 - Anything Goes
Virginia's View Challenge #14 - layers and dimensions

Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my twisted easel card. These are so fun to make. I love piling on the layers, all the dimension, the ribbons, bows and bits and bobs. Enjoy!
