Thanks

Hi! I'm popping in quickly with a card for the CASology: Week #186: Distress challenge.

For this card I used a rainbow of distress inks blended over a Stamplorations Bold Florals stencil. The sentiment was also inked with distress ink. Both pieces were die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangles and adhered flat to a card base.

Today was quite a busy day. We celebrated Averie's 5th birthday with a party and a house full of family and friends. My goodness, all those children were busy. Averie started the party as Elsa and ended as Wonder Woman. From a princess to Wonder Woman in 2 hours! I was tired just watching her.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Enjoy!

Fusion - Pretty in Pink

Hello. Today I have a card for the Fusion - Pretty in Pink Challenge. What a great photo and/or sketch for inspiration for this challenge.

My card -

I was inspired by the colors in the photo. Pink  and navy are colors I don't usually use together, but I will now after seeing what a pretty color combo they make.  The flowers are from SSS With WPlus9 Many Thanks stamp set and inked in Hero Arts Bubble Gum Ink. The leaves from the same set were inked in Hero Arts Navy Blue Ink. I used the navy ink for the my sentiment, which is again from the Sweet 'n Sassy Treasured set. (Can you tell I'm stocking up my very depleted stack of Mother's Day cards?)

The geometric patterns in the photo inspired my background paper. Both the stamped panel and the navy pp were die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangles and adhered to the card base.

Edited to add - I will also enter this into Inkspirational Challenge #103 - Geometric.

My Nerium vendor event went well today. I donated a basket of cards to raffle for their fundraising which was well received. In addition, I sold a few cards and was commissioned to make a few more, including a masculine 100 year old birthday card. That will be a first for me.

Have a great rest of the weekend. Enjoy!

Muse Challenge #154

HI1 I'm back today with a card for Muse Challenge #154. This week's muse is Jenni Murray and below is her lovely card.

Now mine.

For my card I used a flower from AMuse Studio Simple Swirls stamp set. I added some loose color with a dabber and distress inks and framed it with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Film Strip die. A striped paper from Lawn Fawn Let's Polka paper pad was adhered to the card base. The die cut piece was adhered flat to the card and I added a sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Treasured stamp set.

A huge thank you to Jenni for her inspiraton which I used with my design, colors and striped paper. I'm so pleased with how this card turned out.

I'm off and will be sharing Nerium at my display table in a Wellness Fair today. Also, bringing along a basket of my cards to raffle as part of their fundraiser and some cards to hopefully sell.

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday and makes some time to just play! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Averie!

Happy Friday and what a happy day it is! Today my precious granddaughter, Averie, is five. Among other things she loves dinosaurs and purple is her favorite color.

The balloons were made with SSS Balloon Dies and the number 5 balloon from Avery Elle Numbered Balloons. Her dinosaur was from Lawn Fawn Critters From the Past, stamped on Lawn Fawn Let's Polka paper and cut out. The dino and some of the balloons were added with foam and the strings were hand drawn. The birthday sentiment is SSS and the dino sentiment is from the same Lawn Fawn stamp set. I die cut the panel with SSS Stitched Rectangles and added it to a purple card base.

I'm entering this into Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes challenge and The Paper Players: Challenge #283 - clean & simple.

I think she'll like it, don't you? Her family party is Sunday and I can't wait, so I'll drop in to see her today at her Pre-K class. We made some treats for her classmates. Well, she put the bubbles in the bags!

Hoping you have a fabulous Friday! Enjoy!

Hello Little One

Hello. Today I have a card to add to Inkspirational: Challenge #102, where the word prompt is 'pop'. Should have been easy, right? First thought in my head was balloons, then soda, then champagne. Well, today I just couldn't come up with anything with balloons that I liked and I don't have any soda or champagne stamps. (Hard to believe, I know.)

I had the Lawn Fawn Critters From the Past out to make my sweet granddaughter who loves dinosaurs a birthday card. Well, just look at that cute little dino popping out of his egg that's in that set! After spending like 2 hours tryng to make something, this came together in about 5 minutes. I stamped and colored the dinosaurs and the Unity sentiment, die cut the piece with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a striped card base. Kind of a cute little one, don't you think?

I am also entering this into Lawnscaping Challenge #124, where the theme is celebration.

That's all for today. Have a good evening. Enjoy!

colourQ #329

Hi! I'm back with my second post today to enter a card into a new to me challenge at colourQ: # 329. The challenge is to create a black & white card with one spot of color. It sounded fun and I'm happy with what I made.

I love this Create a Smile arrow background stamp I purchased from Butterfly Reflections Ink. The butterflies were die cut from Spellbinders Nested Butterflies Two. Both were given a heavy dose of clear Wink of Stella to brighten up the colors.

I will also be playing at Snippets Playground - Week 217, as my butterflies were made from snippets.

Gotta run so I can get this card entered. Have a great week. Enjoy!

Easter Blessings

Good Monday Morning! I'm popping in very quickly to share my first Easter make of the year. I want to add it to CASology: Week 185: EGG before it closes.

I used a piece of smooshed ink paper from my last inky play and die cut an egg. I then die cut some gold card with the Cheerly Lynn Lace Die and glued it to the egg. The sentiment is from  Verses Rubber Stamps and was heat embossed in gold. I added the egg with foam and rounded the bottom right corner of the card for interest.

I am also entering this into Can You Case It #108, which is a sketch challenge this week.

Have a lovely day! Enjoy!

Congratulations

Happy Sunday. The weekend flew by, didn't it? As I was looking through some challenges this morning, I knew the first thing I had to make was a card for this week's Less is More challenge. The theme this week is to add texture. It's been awhile since I had my embossing pastes and stencils out, so that's what I grabbed.

I began by spreading white embossing paste through a dot stencil on the upper right 2/3 of the panel. While that was drying, I die cut some leaves from vellum. When the embossing paste was totally dry, the leaves were added to the right side of the panel.  The sentiment was heat embossed in gold and added with foam. To finish my card, I adhered the panel to a card base and added a scattering of gold sequins.

I hope everyone has a great week. Enjoy!

The Challenge #60

Hello. Today I'm playing at The Challenge #60 at Always Playing with Paper. This week is a color challenge and we had to use pink, red, gray and white.

This is the card I made using Altenew Vintage Flowers. The flowers were inked with 3 of the inks in the Altenew Red Cosmos ink cubes set. I used 2 shades of gray for the leaves. Of course, I used my MISTI so I could position the layers correctly. (Most of them...) If you don't have one yet, I would definitely recommend getting one. It's worth every penny!

The leaves were stamped directly on the card base. I used some pieces of leftover card for my flowers. After stamping, I fussy cut them and added them over the leaves with foam for dimension. The sentiment was also stamped in gray. To finish my card I added a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. Sequins are another of my must-haves. I love them!

I am also entering this card into the challenges at Pixie's Snippets Playground: Week 216 (my flowers),  Seize the Birthday  - without toppings, and AAA Cards: Game 58 - Add Sequins.

(Edited to add - Darn! I missed the deadline at the Playground. Next time!)

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Enjoy!

Hi There!

Happy Friday, everyone! I'm quickly sharing a card for some challenges. My niece will be here later and we'll be starting her wedding invitations. The next 6 months will fly by with all the preparations, so we're getting started now.

This card is for the Muse: Challenge #153. You can see the fabulous card by this week's Muse, Tracey McNeeley, below. My card gave me fits! I knew what I wanted to do, but several attempts went into the recycle bin. I finally settled on this, even though I now think I should have stamped the flowers higher. Anyhow, the stamp is from Hero Arts and once again, I used Distress Markers to color directly onto the stamp. That turned out to not be an easy task for me.

Here's Tracey's gorgeous card -

I went with her inpiring 3 blooms for my card. Rather than emboss them in gold, I splattered some gold ink around my card.

I am also entering this into the One Layer Simplicity Challenge #24 - Friends and Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #181 - Anything Goes.

Ok, on to the wedding invitations. Have a great weekend, everyone! Enjoy!

Less is More - One Layer

Hello. I'm popping in quickly with another card for the current challenge at Less is More. This week we are being challenged to create a one layer card. I remade a card I shared the other day in this post, so it is now only one layer.

I've used the same stamp from Stampin Up's Love & Sympathy set. For this card I used Spun Sugar and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and stamped directly onto my card base on the left. The same sentiment was added to the right of the flower. I love the simplicity of one layer cards and they are easy to mail.

I hope everyone is having a good week. We finally have some sunshine and warmer temperatures here. I so hope Punxsutawney Phil was right, don't you? I would love an early Spring! Enjoy!

Addicted To CAS

I find sympathy cards some of the hardest to make. Does anyone else? Sadly, I've had to make a few in the past couple of days. I'm hoping that this one will bring a bit of comfort to the recepient, knowing it is filled with all my love.

The flower on my card is from the Stampin Up Love & Sympathy set and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamp. I colored directly onto the flower stamp with Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint Distress Inks, added a good 'huff" to the ink and inked my smallest stitched panel. That panel was adhered to a larger stitched panel and then to my card base. Simple and serene is what I was going for.

I'm entering this into Addicted to CAS Challenge #81, where the code word is bloom.

I have a fun day planned for tomorrow with my granddaughter, Averie. She'll be 5 in a couple of weeks and tomorrow she is headed to her first gymnastics class. She's quite excited and I must say so am I. Hope you have a fun day, too! Enjoy!

Thinking of You

Happy Valentine's Day! As expected, we had Arctic temperatures today. I didn't leave my house. It was a good day to stay in and make cards. I made a quick card for this week's Less is More challenge, which is to make a one layer card and add a stem.

For this I used an AMuse Studio stamp and then added distress inks with a dabber. The sentiment is Sweet n Sassy Keep in Touch, Too Clear Stamp Set designed by Gloria Stengel of Scraps of Life. I adore Gloria's work. If you're not familiar with her, go check out her blog. You'll love it!

You can find some beautiful CAS cards on the Less is More blog every week.

I hope you have a wonderful week (and that it warms up!). Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello. It is frigid here in Central New York. I was driving to Create All Day at my LSS late this morning and my car said it was -2 degrees. I believe with the wind chill it was -25. Tomorrow is expected to be even colder. Good day to stay home.

Today I have one more Valentine's Day card to share. This was made with the SSS Falling Hearts Stencil and Dreamweaver Gold Embossing Paste. The sentiment is from the Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold & The Happy stamp set. I die cut the panel with SSS Stitched Rectangles, (I can't stop using them) and adhered it flat to a card base. The key was added to cover a smudged gold heart, but don't tell anyone.

I am entering this into Time Out Challenge #49. It's a words inspired challenge and the words are - 'Love is the flower you've got to let grow'. I went with 'love' for my card. Also, I am entering this into the CASology: Week 184: Valentine challenge. Not sure it's CAS enough, tho.

I hope you all have a very happy Valentine's Day. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to You

Hello! How is everyone? I so love playing with Color Bursts, don't you? You never know what your background will look like and everyone of them is so pretty.

Recently, I spent some time creating some backgrounds with my Color Bursts again. I love having the backgrounds on hand for some really quick cards when I need them. For the card on the left, I only used blue and left lots of white space, For the one on the left I used red, orange and yellow. Totally love them both! I stamped each with the Mama Elephant Make a Wish stamp set. I love that big, bold script sentiment. The stars that come in the stamp set were stamped to form a triangle around the sentiment. I then die cut the panels with SSS Stitched Rectangles and adhered them flat to a card base. So quick & easy when the backgrounds are ready ahead of time!

Evidently, we have another snowstorm in the forecast here in Central New York. I hope all is well wherever you may be. Enjoy!

Always and Forever

Today I have a simple card made using the Graphic 45 Mon Amour Collection. I love the papers in this collection. A former colleague asked me to make some valentines using keys. What better keys and papers to use than those by Graphic 45?

This card is A2 size. I simply used 2 of the papers on a black card base with a strip of a 3rd paper covering the join. Then I  adhered a cut-out with foam for some dimension. I added a key and small keyhole charm from my stash. I decided to keep this card more masculine so I didn't add any other embellishments.

Hopefully, you are enjoying the first week of February. I'm still trying to adjust to retirement and new routines. Just taking each day as it comes and loving it. Enjoy!

Mon Amour

I finally took some time to play with the Graphic 45 Mon Amour collection that's been gathering dust on my table. Anyone who knows me, knows I adore all things Graphic 45. They are my absolute favorite company, hands down. So with Valentine's Day coming up quickly, I had to use these papers.

This card is 5x7 and I used one of the pieces from the Journaling & Euphemera Cards package matted on black CS as the focal piece. Two of the papers in the collection were used on the black card base. The focal piece was adhered with foam.

My multi-loop bow is seam binding topped with twine and a flower. I added several more flowers along with a G45 keyhole and key for embellishment. Some paint was added to both of the metal pieces.

I'd like to enter this into The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I've used the flowers, pink and ribbon for a diagonal tic-tac-toe.

I've made a few more cards and hope to share them in the next few days. I'm still trying to become accustomed to no longer working at school and instead focusing on my new Nerium skincare business.

Have  a great Wednesday. Enjoy!
